2012 Exhibit

“Doing business As… Artist Entrepreneurs” is a collaborative of selected artists-graduates of the Artist as Entrepreneur Institute (AEI). It will take place at the Gallery Six at the Broward County Main Library in Fort Lauderdale.

Dates: January 13th through February 27th, 2012

Opening Reception: Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 5 – 7:30pm
Special guests: AEI graduates writer Jill Slaughter and performance artist Nzingah

Closing Reception: Wednesday, February 22nd, 5pm to 7:30pm
Special guest: AEI graduate storyteller Mij Byram
Guest speakers: Program Director, Amada Cruz and Executive Director Katharine DeShaw  of United States Artists (USA)

Artists: Frank Crowley, Louis Davis, Nolan Haan, Michael D Harris, Henning Haupt, Debra Kaszovitz, Amelia Monroe, JoAnn Nava, Elle Schorr and Bonnie Shapiro.

Honorary Artists: Virginia Fifield, Jacklyn Laflamme and LeeAnna Yater, who have spearheaded the first D.B.A. exhibit, will return as Honorary Artists for 2012.

The D.B.A. exhibit provides an opportunity for Artist Entrepreneur Institute graduates to utilize the skills and information gained from the program to establish experience as professional artists springboard their careers. It provides a model for future AEI graduates to carry on the tradition of exhibiting and doing business as artists.
